Hey guys. So here’s the deal. As we all know very well, in the technology industry, we all have websites. We build websites as a form of an online store. Websites are like 7-11’s, they may not always be selling, but they are always open. As a result, knowing where the traffic to a website comes from, is crucial. In SEO, search engine optimization, knowing our website rank on different keywords is crucial. Why? Because then we know if our efforts are working or not.

Enter Caphyon and their tool, Advanced Web Ranker. This is probably one of the best tools I’ve seen. If you go to their website, you’ll see tons of good logo’s, of companies who use their software. I have to agree that this software is definitely superior. Getting a good search engine ranking software, which allows you to hone into your search engine visibility is daunting and very very rough.

Advanced Web Ranker, aka AWR, simplifies this whole procedure 100% – the best thing and the first thing I want to talk about is their reporting system. AWR notes the ranks of your websites each time you run it. But the coolest thing, is that it allows you to compare your websites rankings with respect to different days. Meaning I can compare my websites rankings today, to yesterday, last Friday, or even last month. You can essentially compare your results to any other reports you ran in the past!

Not only this, Advanced Web Ranking, does an awesome job of tracking and reporting your rankings across different websites, and different search engines.

So how do you start out? Well, the first time you open it up it asks you to create a project. What this means is you are pretty much going to set the parameters of your project, meaning it asks you for your website, the list of keywords etc.

After you fill in all the fields, you then run the project. This can be very long or short, depending on how you set the preferences. For example, in order to “mimic” an actual human doing the searching, the AWR program has a built in “be-friendly-to-search-engines” feature. It slows the program down so it doesn’t look like an automated bot! how clever!!! I use it all the time since I leave my computer on at night. It just runs and it works great….But for those who want instant results, you can turn this feature off and the program just keeps getting search results and parsing them for your rankings. Definitely a superior system!

The coolest part of this program is that you can actually look at your rankings as they come in. There are different fields in the program, as you can see in the screenshot below. See the KEYWORD RANK page? You can click on it while your project is running, which allows you to see live results. I love this, curiousity is huge with me, and I like seeing results as they come in. I can’t wait for my project to finish running and then see results. It’s just a personal pet peeve, that I know many people also like!

 

 

SOME OTHER COOL THINGS

Some other things I liked, but never really use with AWR, is the graphing function they have. You can graph out the status of your projects with this program. I’m not too sure how to use it — if you have too many keywords, all the lines literally get compressed so it’s hard for me to use it. But I’m sure if your project isn’t REALLY BIG, then this is something you would like showing to your clients in a project proposal or some sort of summary.

 

The Final Verdict

In summary, I love this thing. It’s great. You really should try it out, because as an SEO professional, you need a reliable tracking mechanism for rankings. If you don’t, then not only do you look unprofessional, but you also won’t get paid for the work you do — and this is huge!
